The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth

This is a story that follows a young girl named Tris who, at the age of 16, has to choose a faction that she wants to live in. Each faction focuses on one attribute that they think is the ultimate characteristic that brought down the country. The catch? Well if you choose a faction that you were not born to, then you can't see your family ever again. A clever new story of rebellion, love, and family. Rating: 4 of 5 stars (the whole series!)

I loved these books! Veronica Roth is able to transport you right into her new world with new laws and ways of doing things. I felt like I was right with Tris as she fought to discover who she is and what she really wants. As typical as this story may sound, there are twists in every book that left me turning pages faster and faster. I felt that each book was able to build on each other in a perfect and brilliant way. One of my favorite aspects of this series was how each book picked up EXACTLY where the last one left off. You never miss a beat of the characters journeys. I have never seen this before in a series and loved how there was no retelling of the first book in the other two.

There is a beautiful romance in these novels. It wasn't a typical love triangle with the same characters and attitudes. There is a boy that appears.. but you'll have to read to find out more about him! The strongest love that is dealt with in these books are friend and family relationships. It was nice to have a new dynamic that really pushed the heroine to new levels and emotional peaks. It made her so relatable and refreshing.

Any Problems? Well I have only a one. Sometimes I became so attached to the characters that it was so hard when something didn't go the way I wanted. I found myself so frustrated by certain characters that I was thinking about them all day, all the time! Very distracting, but very worth it.

I strongly recommend these books. They kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can't believe there wont be another book. So go pick up a copy for yourself and make sure you have hours to just sit and read!
